Monchronik – the decentralized city museum of Monheim am Rhein
The Monchronik tour of Monheim am Rhein's city history is a themed walking tour that connects key locations in the city's history. It leads to four of the eight sites of the decentralized Monchronik city museum, including the Schelmenturm (Rogue's Tower), Hilla's Reading Shed, Marienburg Castle with Marienburg Park, and St. Gereon's Church.

The walking tour connects historical and modern parts of the city. Charming cafés and a variety of restaurants in the old town and in Monheim's city center invite you to take a relaxing break, perfect for rounding off your walk with a culinary experience. With distances between locations mostly under 500 meters, the route is also particularly family-friendly and ideal for short strolls.

The tour can be extended by visiting the Chapel of Our Lady, the Eel Fishing Museum on the Rhine, and the Roman Museum at Haus Bürgel in the Urdenbacher Kämpe. While these locations are a bit further away, they are easily accessible on foot. Alternatively, you can travel by bicycle, car, or public transport.

A walk along the Monchronik sites is possible at any time. However, please note the individual opening times for visits. With the exception of the Roman Museum at Haus Bürgel, all sites are free of charge.
