After the ferry crossing, the route runs parallel to the Rhine towards Zons, offering expansive views of the open river landscape. Upon reaching Zons, the route crosses the Rhine again via the Zons–Urdenbach ferry. This second crossing takes the route back to the right bank of the Rhine. From there, the route leads through the Urdenbacher Kämpe, one of the most important nature reserves on the Rhine. Here, the Rhine is still allowed to flood natural floodplains, and meadows, wetlands, orchards, and riparian forests shape the landscape. The predominantly flat route is ideal for a relaxed bike tour through the Rhine floodplains and offers an immersive nature experience right on the river.
The route then leads along the dike back into the town of Monheim am Rhein. Directly adjacent to the Rheinbogen landscape park, the old town, with its diverse culinary offerings, invites you to a pleasant stop. Cafés, restaurants, and beer gardens provide the perfect setting to bring the tour to a relaxing close.
