Sand dunes in neanderland? Of course! But first the path leads to the Further Moor nature reserve, where bog lilies, sundews, and reeds thrive and form a rare flora. The route continues to the Leichlinger Sand Hills, which are part of the Bergisch Heath Terraces. Their fine sand was once used by local industry as molding sand for metal production. From sand to water: At the historic Haus Graven moated castle, the façade made of solid stone blocks is impressive, while the ivy-covered courtyard creates a special atmosphere. In the Ohligs Heath, purple flowers bloom in late summer. And animal "gardeners" are also at work here: sheep and goats naturally keep the landscape short.
