Near the old arm of the Rhine, nestled between orchards and the Urdenbacher Kämpe stream, lies Haus Bürgel. Once a Roman fort, it is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage "Lower Germanic Limes" and houses archaeological finds, a biological station, and a traditional horse breeding farm. From here, it's not far to the Rhine, where on weekends, the Piwipper Böötchen invites you to take a trip to the other side of the Rhine. Right on the water, on the eel-shuttle boat "Fiat Voluntas," the interactive Eel Fishing Museum tells the story of Rhine fishing and everyday life on the historic fishing boat. Those interested in learning more about the town of Monheim am Rhein can follow in the footsteps of the Gänseliesel (Gänseliesel) and discover the town's most beautiful sights.
