- Start: Düsseldorfer Strasse in Erkrath
- Destination: Hulsenstraße in Hilden
Large cities in the distance, glittering lakes close by – this stage combines impressive panoramas with idyllic nature. The trail first leads up to the heights of the Düsselaue meadows, where rare animal species such as the hawk, Daubenton's bat, and the common frog live in secret. From there, a sweeping view opens up over the Rhineland all the way to the Düsseldorf skyline and Cologne Cathedral. Hikers then encounter a picturesque lake landscape with the Unterbacher See, Elbsee, and Menzelsee. At Unterbacher See, a small harbor, beaches, and boat rentals invite you to a relaxing break with a holiday feeling in the warmer months. The Elbsee, on the other hand, is a biotope that provides a habitat for numerous bird species.
