Hiking in the footsteps of the third Federal President: The “Gustav-Heinemann-Weg” discovery loop leads from the 4th stage of the neanderland STEIGs to Velbert-Langenberg. It leads through the Bergische and Elfringhauser Schweiz: the landscape on the border between the Rhineland and Westphalia is actually reminiscent of the Alps with its natural or agricultural meadows, deep valleys and fantastic panoramas. The northern section takes you comfortably through the Felderbachtal nature reserve.

Gustav Walter Heinemann (*1899 in Schwelm; † 1976 in Essen) was a German politician and the third President of the Federal Republic of Germany. When he visited his daughter, he often walked along the Felderbach. However, he saved himself the way up to the heights. But on his it goes up high with a fantastic view of the Bonsfeld district. Cross streams, forest and meadows alternate and the "Gustav-Heinemann-Weg" discovery loop is as multifaceted as the Federal President at the time.
