Insights into goals and opportunities for neanderland STEIG Quality companies
On October 29th, around 70 representatives from the gastronomy and accommodation sectors met at the Road Stop Mettmann to discuss the goals, services, and certification process of the new neanderland STEIG to get to know the quality network.
Lukas Melzer from the ift Leisure and Tourism Consulting GmbH provided information about the economic potential of hiking tourism. Following this, Mareike Joppien presented the new neanderland STEIG The quality network for all hospitality businesses in the district was presented, and information was provided about its goals and opportunities, cooperation possibilities, and the certification process. In the afternoon, Ilka Robke from the Rothaarsteig Association office and Vivien Otto from the Sauerland Stern Hotel offered practical insights into quality-certified businesses along the renowned Rothaarsteig long-distance hiking trail. They emphasized that personal contact and regular communication are crucial success factors for strong collaboration. Further discussions and questions about the network were also welcome. neanderland STEIG The quality network's kick-off event provided a platform for discussion – for example, in a panel discussion and the open exchange of the World Café. The day was rounded off with a poetic summary by slam poet Jan Schmidt.
Four businesses have already been designated as neanderland STEIG Quality business recognized – a first cornerstone for the network. The goal is to attract many more businesses from the hospitality sector to the network and to position the region for the future as a tourism destination.
