The Silbersee, located not far from the Grüner See in Ratingen, is a place for quiet relaxation and nature observation. The lake is characterized by a gravel and reed island of about one hectare in size. Access to the lake itself is not permitted, which helps to preserve the untouched nature.
At the northernmost point of the Silver Lake there is a viewing platform that gives visitors an unobstructed view of the lake's surroundings. Here the vegetation has been deliberately cut back to provide an optimal view.
