Garath Castle and Park

Castle
park/garden area
Garath Castle and the parks represent an important cultural monument in the south of Düsseldorf.

The castle, which was first mentioned in documents in the 13th century, is now built in the classicist style. It is surrounded by a large landscape park, which was laid out in the English style in the 18th century. In 1983, Garath Castle and its park were added to the list of historic monuments.

The landscape park includes a variety of walking trails that lead past natural waterways and tree species.

Garath Castle impresses with its simple elegance and harmonious structure. The interiors contain historical style elements such as elaborate stucco work and offer an insight into life in past centuries. Today the building serves as a venue for cultural events.
