Historic town centre of Düssel – Bergisch half-timbered idyll in neanderland
The historic town centre of Düssel, a district of Wülfrath in neanderland, is characterized by well-preserved Bergisch architecture and historic buildings. A central highlight is the moated castle Haus Düssel, a former knight's seat from the 12th century, whose outer bailey now houses a restaurant. The Catholic church of St. Maximin, whose origins date back to the 11th century, is another important monument. The town center has been a listed building since 1996 and gives an authentic impression of historical settlement structures. Düssel is located directly on the neanderland STEIGso that visitors can combine the picturesque village with a hike through the natural surroundings.
