House Morph
Over the centuries, ownership and usage rights of Morp passed through many hands. Particularly noteworthy is the period between 1410 and 1676, when the property was owned by the Knights of Winkelhausen. It then came into the possession of the Counts of Hatzfeld, until it was finally taken over by Friedrich Grillo in the 19th century. Every September 14, a procession of the canonesses from Gerresheim commemorates the historical presence of a chapel that once stood on this site.
Today, Haus Morp is a recognized monument that offers insights into the eventful history of the Düsseldorf region and the Mettmann district. For visitors, it offers not only an impressive architectural history, but also the peace and beauty of the surrounding parks and gardens. Haus Morp can only be viewed from the outside, as it is privately owned. The park is a protected landscape and invites you to take a stroll. Haus Morp is therefore an attractive destination for those interested in history and lovers of cultural landscapes.
