Foundation stone boxes in the Langenberg community center

museum/exhibition
The "Foundation Stone Boxes" exhibition in the gallery of the historic town house in Langenberg is a long-standing successful project of the Kunsthaus Langenberg eV
What once started as a creative financing idea for a small association has unexpectedly quickly developed into an impressive success story and an internationally sought-after art collection. With the participation of more than 400 artists and the conception of Norbert Bauer, the project "Grundsteinkisten" was created from 1993, a "triptych" made of three sand-lime bricks stored in a wooden box.

Each box and each sand-lime brick was individually processed by well-known artists such as Emil Schumacher, Günther Uecker, Georg Baselitz and many others. After traveling through numerous national and international exhibitions, 6,5 tons of art have found an exposed and permanent location and impress visitors as a cross-section of contemporary art.
