Velbert was and still is a center of the German locking and security industry. In the museum, visitors go on an exciting journey through 4000 years of inventiveness in the service of security - from the ancient Egyptians to the Roman Empire and the Renaissance to industrialization.
Since then, the development of locking technology has been constantly changing in order to protect people and their property from increasingly sophisticated burglary methods. It is the only scientifically managed museum for locking and security technology worldwide and invites you to try it out with interactive and multimedia stations as well as functional models.
