Neanderthal No. 1 – Café & Events

Neandertal No. 1 is located in the heart of the Neandertal Valley, directly across from the hiking parking lot and in close proximity to the Neanderthal Museum. Number 1 is not just the address, but also the program.

The café, which can also be used as an event location, offers homemade cakes, fresh gateaux, and regional delicacies, combining a cozy atmosphere with a touch of Stone Age charm. The sunny terrace invites you to linger and is the ideal meeting place for museum visitors, hikers on the Neandersteig trail, or families from the nearby forest playground. In addition to coffee specialties and sweet treats, a varied, seasonally changing lunch menu is available.

A special highlight is the Stone Age grotto, where you can celebrate and get married. As an official outdoor location of the Erkrath registry office, Neandertal No. 1 uniquely combines a wedding room and party venue.
