The Monheim Star Magic brightens up the winter season at Eierplatz in the heart of Monheim Mitte: Just in time for the first weekend of Advent, a six-week, free ice skating event begins on the 425-square-meter ice rink. The rink is powered entirely by green electricity from renewable sources. Skates can be brought along or rented on-site. Exclusive use of the ice rink is also available: Kindergarten and school groups can book the rink in the mornings. Groups can also reserve a section of the ice for a group game of curling in the evenings for a fee.
A wide range of restaurants and eateries await visitors around the ice rink. The two-storey winter chalet right next to the ice rink also welcomes guests at the outside counter and inside with winter dishes and drinks. The upper floor can be reserved for Christmas parties.
Christmas decorations and sparkling poinsettias on the lanterns and trees create the perfect ambiance around the ice rink and throughout the city center. The neighboring shops invite you to enjoy a festive stroll with numerous special offers and a Sunday opening on November 30, 2025.
