On November 8, 2026, the city center of Monheim will be transformed into an atmospheric autumn market – with creative stalls, street food and a visit from Saint Martin.
Shops in Monheim will also open their doors from 13 p.m. to 18 p.m.

The St. Martin's Market in Monheim am Rhein offered a diverse creative and design market with handmade gift ideas, regional specialties, and open shops. A colorful family program with live music, a lantern competition, a visit from St. Martin, and animal attractions created a festive atmosphere in the city center.

Creative market

For shopping enthusiasts, the Martinsmarkt (St. Martin's Market) is a highlight every year. At this creative and design market, visitors can discover handmade gift ideas – from upcycled products and colorful fabrics and bags to gourmet foods, jewelry, and unique home accessories. Monheim's shops will also be open from 13 p.m. to 18 p.m.

Street food & regional specialties

Between the stalls, food trucks and street food stands invite visitors to indulge. Local vendors sell autumnal specialties in front of the town hall and on Alte Schulstraße.

Family program & visit from Saint Martin

For children and families, the market offers a diverse stage program with live music, a lantern competition, and St. Martin's Day carols. The highlight comes when St. Martin arrives in the town center, shares his cloak, and surprises children's shining eyes with small gifts. A special treat: real alpacas that delight visitors of all ages. New this year is the children's vintage flea market on Heinestraße. A colorful children's program awaits younger visitors on Lommer-jonn Chaussee.

Unfortunately, this year the Martinsmarkt cannot take place in its usual form, as the city of Monheim am Rhein has imposed a budget freeze.

The entire program can here to be looked at.
