Langenberg Festival - Chamber music between the Rhine and Ruhr
This year's festival is themed "Da pacem". It illuminates and reflects on the important theme of "peace" using artistic means, and thus also on current events.
It will take place from September 11th to 13th, 2026 in the small hall of the historic town hall in Velbert-Langenberg.
The opening concert (September 11, 2026, 18 p.m.) will use music and language to explore themes that resonate on both an emotional and intellectual level. Sergei Prokofiev's monumental Sonata in F minor, performed by Nina Reddig (violin) and Mariko Sudo (piano), will be complemented by readings from music educator and reciter Prof. Dr. Adrian Niegot.
On Saturday evening (September 12, 19 pm) we offer a platform to two top talents from the Festival Academy (Maria Bovensmann / Nelika Yukawa), who will also have the opportunity to speak in an interview and discussion with the audience.
For the closing concert (September 13, 19 p.m.), we are delighted to announce the participation of the young baritone, Äneas Humm. He first participated in the Langenberg Festival as a student 10 years ago and has since enjoyed a successful international career. Together with the string ensemble LUDIMUS, he will perform a deeply moving program – from Bach's aria "Schlummert ein" to Arvo Pärt's "Da pacem, Domine".
