Several texts reflect my xenologophilia, my love of foreign words, which I then like to explain using jokes, such as malapropism, the confusion of similar-sounding foreign words.

One of the most mysterious and at the same time most universally applicable sentences in the book, if not in literature, is:
I am awake now.

Jürgen von der Lippe, born in 1948, has been a successful master of subtle humor and a presenter on stage and television for decades. He lives in Berlin and is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Bambi, the Grimme Prize, and the Golden Camera. His most recent books, "Beim Dehnen singe ich Balladen" (I Sing Ballads While Stretching), "Der König der Tiere" (The King of the Animals), "Nudel im Wind" (Noodle in the Wind), and "Sex ist wie Mehl" (Sex Is Like Flour), were on the bestseller list for weeks.
