neanderland MUSEUM NIGHT

For the museum night in neanderland Every two years, over 30 establishments open their doors to night owls. Admission is free.

On the last Friday in September, museums, natural history adventure rooms, art associations and private collections throughout the district take part in the event neanderland MUSEUM NIGHT. In many places a varied program is organized for guests large and small. There is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the cultural diversity of the neanderlandto get to know s.

The next neanderland MUSEUM NIGHT takes place on the 26. September 2025 The brochure with all participating museums will probably be available for download here as a PDF after the summer holidays.

neanderland HIKING WEEK

The neanderland HIKING WEEK is a week-long hiking event that takes place every two years around the neanderland STEIG In addition to tours for ambitious hikers, walks for older people and families with children are also offered. 

The next neanderland HIKING WEEK will take place in 2026 You will find the date here in good time.

neanderland ART

The neanderland ART is a juried group exhibition organized by the Mettmann district, in which visual artists from the neanderland present their latest works of art. Every two years, a cross-section of the current art scene is presented – because works of art from all genres are permitted.  

The 10. neanderland ART took place from April 26 to July 14, 2024 at the Museum Ratingen. The varied exhibition featured 45 works of art by 28 artists from the neanderland presented. The neanderland ART 24 was attended by approximately 2.700 art lovers and was a great success. Several works of art were sold.

We will inform you here about the next exhibition, which will take place in 2026.

neanderland CRIME SCENE

Every two years it is said “Access desired” when numerous committed artists from the district take part in the campaign “neanderland TATORTE” opens its studios to an interested audience. From painting and graphics to photography and sculpture to glass art, ceramics and book design, all disciplines are represented. Professional and self-taught artists warmly welcome you to their studios.

The last neanderland TATORTE took place on August 31.08st and September 01.09st in the northern district and on September 07.09th and 08.09.2024th, 2026 in the southern district. The open studios were visited by numerous art lovers. The artists are expected to open their studios again in XNUMX as part of the neanderland CRIME SCENES. The exact dates will be announced here.

neanderland BIENNALE

The neanderland BIENNALE is a district-wide theatre festival with a local focus, which takes place every two years as a cooperation between the Mettmann district and the cities of Erkrath, Haan, Heiligenhaus, Hilden, Langenfeld, Mettmann, Monheim am Rhein, Ratingen, Velbert and Wülfrath. The focus is on theatre productions in public spaces, often outdoors, at unusual venues throughout the neanderlandThe concept of theatre is broadly defined; the programme also includes performances from the areas of acrobatics, readings, concerts or poetry slam.

The 12. neanderland BIENNALE took place from 27.6. – 12.7.2025 The diverse festival program was www.neanderland-biennale.de The audience was invited to take cultural journeys through the neanderland and experience great shows in the different cities.
