The Neanderthal is just the beginning

The neanderland not only impresses with its enchanting nature, but is also an inspiring cultural landscape. Go on a journey through time from the beginnings of humanity in the Neanderthal Museum through the Roman era in the Haus Bürgel World Heritage Site to the medieval castles, palaces and historic town centers. It continues from the monuments of industrialization to the impressive evidence of recent history, such as St. Mary's Cathedral in Velbert-Neviges. More than 30 thematically different museums provide fascinating insights into all eras. And the art studios, literary workshops, music and theater festivals continue to write the cultural history of the region. You must have experienced this, for example on the weekend or during the holidays.
